Strasburg - Ternes-Frank Home
The Ternes home was built in the early 1900s. It was constructed of clay bricks with a clay exterior. The house was a three room plan with a wood lean-to addition. A wood frame provided loft space for storage. The house featured a gable roof, stairway outside, and a storm cellar. The Ternes home was later owned by the Frank family. The north room was used as the front room and children's bedroom, the middle room was used as the master bedroom, and the south room was the kitchen. The lean-to was divided into three rooms, which provided an extra bedroom, bathroom, and a storage room/ entry. At the time the images were taken in the summer of 1970, the house was modernized. It had an electric stove, refrigerator, and other amenities. The home was abandoned in 1970, some time after the images were taken. The house has a yellow exterior color and blue trim throughout.
